Alternating Tread Stairs

The Lapeyre Alternating Tread Stair features a unique tread design which provides greater tread depth than vertical ladders or ship's ladders. The alternating tread stair:

  • Allows comfortable face-forward descents at steep angles
  • Includes close fitting handrails which provide support
  • Has a cushioned central stringer which virtually eliminates the possibility of hitting the nosing of a tread

Safety Gates for Alternating Tread Stairs
Safety gates provide additional safety at the top of your alternating tread stair. Designed with the dimensions and connections needed for perfect fit on an alternating tread stair. Completely reversible, the gate swings 180°. Gate width: 18", overall vertical height: 30"
 
Work Platforms & Legs

Work Platforms & Legs

Lapeyre Stair offers a variety of work platforms designed to integrate with our metal stairs. The design for each platform may be slightly different based on your stair application, whether it is an industrial stair or an egress stair, and the size or material requirements.

Formed Single Piece Platforms
Formed single piece platforms can be used with Alternating Tread Stairs and Industrial Stairs. It cannot be used with commercial/ADA egress stairs or closed riser stairs.

Drop-In Panel Platforms
This platform can be used with most of our stair systems. The design allows for greater flexibility of size and layout configurations.

Legs for Platform Systems
Legs are constructed out of either 3" or 4" square tubing, depending on the strength requirements of your stair height and platform size. For taller applications, bracing is added to the legs for additional strength.
