We are looking for a CAD Design Drafter/Engineer to be part of our team which provides customized warehouse solutions to meet our customers’ specific needs.
Both entry level and experienced candidates are encouraged to apply.
In this position, you will use AutoCAD and related software to design and create production and installation drawings for the illustration and layout of various material handling applications such as mezzanines, cranes, conveyors, rack, shelving, modular offices, etc.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Utilizes computer-aided design (AutoCAD) system, supplier quoting software and other related systems to produce quotes, layouts, detail drawings, sketches, diagrams and bills of materials for various material handling applications.
- Reads, interprets and adheres to state building codes and other applicable industry codes as they relate to Maybury’s engineering efforts. This includes configuring and updating our systems to ensure compliance with existing building code specifications and any associated updates or changes.
- Accompanies our Account Managers to customer sites for surveys and to collect engineering data to determine design requirements and any required modifications.
- Reviews and submits engineering plans, drawings and permits to public authorities for approval to satisfy building department requirements. If the CAD Design Engineer holds a Professional Engineer (PE) license, they would also sign and seal engineering plans when necessary. Otherwise, this would be outsourced.
- Reviews pre-sale project specifications and site surveys to identify issues or concerns and makes recommendations for any necessary modifications. Conducts post-sale quality control review of sales projects to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Performs other supporting duties such as providing backup coverage for our Fabrication/Engineering Manager and provides other departmental support as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Computer Aided Drafting Certificate or Associates Degree in Drafting or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required.
- High proficiency in AutoCAD required; experience in 3D CAD and other engineering software such as StruCalc or ENERCALC a plus.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license a plus.
- Intermediate skills with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Internet Explorer required.
- Ability or aptitude to read, interpret and apply state building and applicable industry codes, technical manuals, supplier product specifications, etc. required.
- High learning aptitude for mechanical and electrical systems required. Knowledge and experience in the following areas a plus: contracting/construction, mechanical machinery and electrical including controls and drivers.

- Good customer service and communication skills required and must be detail oriented and self-motivated.
- Must be able to lift or move up to 50 lbs.
