David & Young
“Working together to find the right solution.”
Atlantic Handling Systems, a division of Maybury Material Handling, is located in Fair Lawn, NJ. Atlantic is located only 12 miles from the George Washington Bridge, which connects New Jersey to New York City. Atlantic is a long-time Starrco distributor, and has done many large modular office projects in the New York Metropolitan area. The Atlantic team is led by its President John Cosgrove, who is a former MHEDA President (2007).
Recently, David & Young, a Korean importer of women’s hats & scarfs, came to Atlantic with a request to construct a 3,000 square- foot, two-story modular office. Atlantic’s design team, consisting of Dan Sweetman and Charlie Morgenstern, began the design and concept phase. The first floor would house the company’s corporate offices, and would also include four bathrooms. The second floor would incorporate a conference room and large show room. David & Young is located in Secaucus, NJ and the building’s floor has sunken considerably over the years. It was determined that a new floor would have to be constructed to house the two story office. A large mezzanine structure was erected three feet above the floor, and a new concrete floor was poured on top. The mezzanine beams were tied into the existing building columns.

“It was a pleasure to work with Atlantic Handling Systems. We are very happy with the end result of our project.”
The Atlantic team worked with structural engineers, local officials and David & Young staff on design and permitting the job with the City of Secaucus and the New Jersey Meadowlands commission. The design phase continued with invaluable help of Dave Cox and Starrco. The order was placed and given to Starrco who delivered the project on time and correct.
Atlantic’s installers erected the two-story office ahead of schedule, and made it easy for David & Young’s employees to move into their offices. David & Young’s Vice President Gerald Young said, “It was a pleasure to work with Atlantic Handling Systems. We are very happy with the end result of our project, and are very satisfied with the Starrco product.”
